We were literally welcomed at the gate by Nicole who had made a special effort to go and buy supplies for our supper on late notice. She and Phillippe are kind and generous hosts and went out of their way to engage us in conversation despite our limited French. Excellent, home-made meal that we shared with them along with lotsa laughs and even some singing. They also gave us the heads up on a trail closure (rainstorm had flooded the path) which saved us from a bunch of misery.
