You will have surely seen small chalk boards with philosophical thoughts and Chemin-pertinent sayings nailed onto trees along the way. These will lead you to this wonderful experience in hospitality located in the fascinating fortress-town of Navarrenx. This was a definite high-point on our Chemin. Jean- Gaétan (the Alchemist) is a philosopher and artist through-and-through, and a night in his amazing museum-like home will surely send you on your way with newly-found inspiration to complete your Camino, and leave your weariness behind. The food is vegetarian, and exquisite. The company and discourse, stimulating. The rooms are way above comfortable, and it’s up to you to find the balance between what your stay is worth, and what you can afford to give (no fixed price, it’s up to you).
